Marina Sivinskienė, a talented make-up artist and lecturer of make-up courses, is highly appreciated not only by her clients in Lithuania. Her name is becoming more and more well-known in the international arena. This is evidenced by the news from New York. At the OMC Hairworld International Beauty Championship, which this year was held remotely due to the pandemic, the Lithuanian was awarded two silver medals. The OMC organisation brings together nearly half a million beauty professionals from almost 50 countries.
An important assessment
The event, which is well-known in the beauty industry, was moved from Paris to New York, where the beauty pageant was broadcast and where the jury for the international competition was based. Make-up artist M.Sivinskienė took part in two make-up categories - Smokey Eye Makeup and Commercial Bridal Makeup. Both entries brought her victories - she became the Vice-Champion.
The first silver medal was awarded to the artist for her bridal look. "When creating the looks, I thought not only about the make-up, but also about every detail, from the dress to the exquisite jewellery and hairstyles. I'm happy that I managed to find the most exquisite dresses for the looks I imagined.
Of course, my victory is the work of the entire professional team: photographer N.Koinova, models from RUTA model management, hair stylist I.Kartunovič.
We created both looks in one photo shoot, as the registration for the championship was only a week away," said M.Sivinskienė, who founded the make-up and hairstyle academy MS akademija, the beauty parlour Mon salon, and also created name-brand make-up brushes.
Not everyone understands the specifics of the work
According to the make-up artist, the work of beauty professionals has been repeatedly ridiculed during the pandemic. Many people think that it is just brushwork. "Make-up is much more than that, it's more interesting, it's an art, it's challenging. Five years ago, I left my job in a hospital and became a make-up artist. I am proud to be a make-up artist and honoured to be part of the national team of beauty professionals in Lithuania," said the beauty industry representative. She won her second silver medal in the Smokey Eye category. This make-up did not go unnoticed at the World Championships, where it was ranked 7th out of 134 entries.
Sivinskienė not only finished in the top ten of the world's best masters, but also received the Best National Competitor award.
"I am very happy that we have the KIGSA Association in Lithuania, which allows us to participate in the World and European Championships and to promote the name of Lithuania," said the master. - Of course, being in the top three masters in Europe, I'm not going to sit still, I'm already starting to prepare for this year's World Championships in October."
