This is because they will absorb the product into themselves and thus cause damage more quickly.

Synthetic hair brushes suitable for use with cream products only - liquid, wet make-up products. This includes foundations, concealers, lipsticks, cream eyeshadows, cream blushes, cream contouring, cream hilighters and many more products that have a creamy texture. The synthetic brushes are nylon and taclon, so they do not absorb liquid product.
